Welcome to moped shed

About me

I finally realized my teenage dream of owning a “sixteener special” by treating myself to a proper Italian sports moped in my late 40s. Buying a Benelli T50 on a whim sparked a full-blown obsession with vintage two-strokes. Never had any experience, mind, but I threw myself in at the deep end—no armbands, just me and the Benelli, stripping it down and building it back up piece by piece..

Finding parts, manuals, and any information for this old Benelli was like hunting for hen’s teeth. I set about tracking down every bit of information and every spare part I could get my hands on. Soon, my shed was a goldmine filled with half-built bikes and greasy parts. I spent hours at the bottom of my garden tinkering away, learning as I went and supping tea. Now, I’m here to share the highs, the lows, and all the in-between bits of this crazy addiction on my website. So, grab a cuppa, pull up a chair, and join me on this ongoing moped adventure!

Shed life

Welcome to my workshop, the beating heart of “Moped Shed”, nestled in the rickety wooden shack at the bottom of my garden. Where I restore and maintain my modest collection of classic 50cc motorcycles. Equipped with an array of tools and a treasure trove of spare parts, my workshop is where passion meets perspiration. Each moped is a journey through time, lovingly brought back to life with dedication and hard work.

Benelli T50

Pride of Place in My Garden Workshop is a collection of three Benelli T50s, including a uniquely Dutch BS50 dealer upgrade made exclusively for the Dutch market by Benelli importer Eysink. Meticulously built, the T50 doesn’t just look like a small motorcycle — it rides like one, thanks to the sturdy closed double cradle frame, Marzocchi front forks, radial-head engine, and a 5-speed gearbox. If, like me, you’re a fan of the T50, click the link below to find out more.
